If you are planning to buy a house, your mortgagor would surely insist that you get a home owner's insurance. After you have bought the house and you move into the house. Bear in mind that several areas of your life would be affected and so you have to review your insurance needs. Some areas you might want to look into include:

1. Home owner's insurance. Although you already have this, you would need to ensure that you are adequately covered. Do you have replacement cost coverage on your valuables? Can the coverage you have protect you from all losses? If not, consider buying extra endorsement or floater to provide additional coverage.

2. Flood insurance. Your home owner's insurance does not cover events like flood. If you live in an area that is prone to flood, you need to consider getting flood insurance.

3. Disability insurance. You need to consider the possibility of not being able to pay your monthly mortgage due to disability. If you have a disability insurance policy. It would enable you to continue paying your monthly mortgage until you are able to go back to work.

4. Auto insurance. Strange as it sounds, there is a connection between your auto insurance and your home owners insurance. If you are involved in an accident that is your fault, a your home would be at risk if expenses incurred exceed the limits of your liability. So when you move into your home, you should review your auto insurance to ensure that you have adequate coverage and that your home would not be at risk.

5. Life insurance. If you do not have a life insurance policy, please consider taking out one very seriously. What would happen to your loved ones in case you die before paying off the mortgage? Would they be able to pay the monthly rates or the balance? Your life insurance would help pay off the debts.
